On Mother’s Day, 2016, I went on a hike that changed the course of my life. A tick bit me, and three days later, my journey with Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses began. Eventually this would also include pre-diabetes, mold toxicity (also called “sick building syndrome”), heavy metal toxicity, mitochondrial dysfunction, and crippling anxiety.

Two years of pharmaceutical experimentation failed to make a dent in my symptoms. It wasn’t until I obsessively researched and implemented non-pharmaceutical lifestyle changes that I healed: overhauling my nutrition, taking supplements and medicinal herbs, and undergoing mindset training. Having support through chronic illness and other health challenges, or simply to create healthy habits can make all the difference in making lasting positive changes.

I’m also a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach-IIN-Training from the Institute for Integrated Nutrition.
